About Us

Who is behind Wandering Desert and What do we stand for?

Wandering Desert Handmade is a passion project of owner Kat. Kat needed a way to cope with on-going depression and came back to her love of crafting after many years. The knotting, the consistency and the challenge have helped Kat deal with her own inner demons. Each piece that is created is created with the knowledge that mental health matters, and that for every person struggling there is someone who is willing and able to help. 

A little more about Kat, she is a 30 something woman from Arizona, but currently living in Texas. Kat is a dogmom, auntie, sister, daughter, friend, former teacher and current Occupational Therapist.
